Hello world! My name is Krupali.
I enjoy having conversations about life — what it means to be, to exist, to occupy certain spaces in time. One of the things I talk about often is belonging. I am lucky enough to have moved around most of my life due to my father’s work but I don’t feel I belong anywhere, not in the country where I was born, not in the country where I currently live (nor in any of the countries in which I have previously lived) and especially not in the country whence my culture and ethnicity stems. So I live with this dichotomy feeling extremely privileged to have been able to have the life I did — moving around, seeing new places and new cultures — but also feeling extremely excluded since I’m an outsider in most situations.
Now I am a mum of a newborn and I’m considering how I would like to raise my little one. In that vein I’m hoping to explore parenting philosophies through my writing as well which I think entwines really well with an exploration about life in general.
Would love it if you’d join me on this journey, but if you choose not to, do wish me luck anyway. I am going to write as though no one is reading in order to encourage me to write more authentically.
(My first few posts will be reposts from my previous blogs which I’m glad I managed to save.)
